PieNetworks has been providing public internet access to Australians for over 10 years. When we started, that required dedicated terminals or kiosks. Today, many people carry Internet capable smart phones around in their pockets or briefcase, but connecting them to high speed Internet via 3G mobile networks can be very expensive, and sometimes those 3G networks can become congested making the customer experience very frustrating.

PieNetworks has become expert at installing and operating a wide range of managed WiFi and public internet services which are giving customers a great online experience when they are out of home or away from the office. This may be via the customers own WiFi enabled smartphone, tablet or notebook PC, or alternatively via PieNetworks own range of advanced touch screen public terminals.

Customer demand for high speed online access when they are “out and about” creates an opportunity for traditional “bricks and mortar” businesses to improve their value proposition by providing these services to customers on their premises – whether it’s to check email, find things on maps, connect with friends via social networks, or be entertained. The “bricks and mortar” business can then use this online connection with their customer to provide detailed product and service information, promotions and offers, and enable customer self-service.
